J-Lo to Take a Break from Music?

February 10, 2009 by Cherie

Western Inaugural Ball

The long awaited greatest hits album that Jennifer Lopez is releasing in the next few months might be the last we hear from her music-wise for awhile. One rumor says she will get some “professional distance” from her hubby Marc Anthony. One source says, “Jennifer hasn’t been able to be considered a real recording success since she’s been with Marc. No matter how hard she tries, she can’t go back and be Jenny from the Block.”

But is Marc really to blame? I do think there are times when marriage can affect a celebrity’s career, but she’s had the opportunity to tour with Marc, so you would think that she’d get more exposure that way.

One thing is clear, I’m buying that greatest hits album as soon as it comes out!

J-Lo Video: Songs from Brave

January 8, 2009 by Cherie

Have you listened to Jennifer Lopez’s album Brave? It didn’t do tremendously well, as far as albums go, but it had some really great songs. I found a few fan videos that feature the music from Brave and also include some great pictures of J-Lo.

Here’s the song “Never Gonna Give Up.” I like how Jennifer’s voice is on this clip, and really enjoy the violins at the very beginning. It has a different feel.

In “Mile in These Shoes.” This song almost sounds like something from the Pussycat Dolls in the very beginning. It gets a little screechy for me as she gets into the middle and end, but hey - do we ever really hate her music?

In the song “I Need Love” J-Lo almost talks about her own experience as she sings the title. The song has a rap beat, and Jen almost talks the very beginning. This song isn’t my favorite, but I do enjoy the pictures that go along with it.

and now for the best part, the title track. I really love the song “Brave.” It suits Jennifer’s voice very well and also has an amazing set of end rhyme. You can’t get this one out of your head.

Happy New Year from JloStalker!

Vinyl Ready Art - Holidays

For this December 31st, I couldn’t help thinking of “Waiting for Tonight” by Jennifer Lopez. When that video came out, it was very popular around the New Years of 1999. Everyone was thinking of the year 2000 and what might happen with technology. This video and song were very, very popular.

As we celebrate the upcoming year (and the great year we’ve just had) why not do it to the music of J-Lo and “Waiting for Tonight“?

I want to thank each and every one of you for reading this blog. Your passion for all things Jlo is inspiring! May you all have a wonderful and safe new year!

Video: Jenny from the Block and Do It Well Mix

December 7, 2008 by Cherie

One of Jlo’s fans did a great job with the mix of this video. They took the music from “Jenny from the Block” and the video from “Do It Well” to create a whole new video. I think the images from “Do It Well” work nicely with the “Jenny” music. It’s like they could literally take the shots from “Do It Well” and just transfer them to “Jenny from the Block.”

They’ve also got some nice photos of Jlo at the end. Enjoy.

Video: Fans Interview Jennifer Lopez

November 30, 2008 by Cherie

Jennifer Lopez has given fans the thrill of a lifetime by letting fans ask her tons of questions, like what it’s like to work with Marc, how she gets ready for a concert, what her future plans are in her music career, how she stays in shape, where she likes to go in Puerto Rico, and her favorite dish growing up.

Many fans had the opportunity to ask her things, but there are a few celebs thrown in for good measure, too.

More on Madonna’s Louis Vitton Deal

November 20, 2008 by Cherie

Madonna Performs At MGM In Las Vegas

There’s more info on Madonna’s new gig for Louis Vitton. (Which I still can’t believe, btw.)

Apparently she’s getting $10 million for the gig, and the photographs are being done by…..

…… drumroll please…….

Steven Meisel (who did Madonna’s Sex book.)

Yeah, right, cuz the kind of vibe needed for the artwork of the Vitton campaign is very equal to the Sex book. (NOT!)

Oh well, I guess I’ll just deal with the fact that this time Vitton has not chosen someone like our Jennifer Lopez. But here’s the best quote about this I’ve read yet:

“Madonna, who is getting divorced from Guy Ritchie over issues ranging from sex to Kabbalah water, is enjoying being the face of the fashion giant.”

Doesn’t that just make you giggle?

Jennifer Lopez Greatest Hits CD Coming Soon

August 12, 2008 by Cherie

2007 HFPA Installation Lunch - Arrivals

Here’s a nice present in time for the holidays. Jennifer Lopez will release a “greatest hits” CD sometime in the fall or winter months. We’ve been waiting for a greatest hits collection, and I’m glad to see they’re finally going to do it. (I may just put that on my own Christmas wish list.)

Here’s a video with a sneak peak of some of the songs that will be on the CD:

One source says these songs will be featured, but keep in mind, this is only a guess at this point:

  • “If You Had My Love”
  • “Jenny from the Block”
  • “Waiting for Tonight”
  • “Play”
  • “Do It Well”
  • “Feelin’ So Good”
  • “Ain’t It Funny”
  • “I’m Gonna Be Alright”
  • “Love Don’t Cost a Thing”
  • “I’m Glad”
  • “I’m Real”
  • “Ain’t It Funny”
  • “Let’s Get Loud”
  • “All I Have”
  • “Get Right”

Personally, I’d like to see a few more of the remixes on this list, but I guess that’s what she already did with “J-to-the-Lo.” I’m sad to see “Brave” is also left off the list, because I think that’s a brilliant song, perfect metering and rhyme, and has a very strong message for females.

But other than that, I do think this will be a nice addition to any J-Lo fan’s musical database. I’m sure Jen will also do a video collection to go along with the CD. Can’t wait for that! Her videos really make the song.

What do you think? Will you buy the new Jennifer Lopez Greatest Hits CD when it comes out?

J-Lo and Fat Joe Sing Hold You Down

July 10, 2008 by Cherie

Jennifer Lopez has had some awesome duets over the last few years. I love anything she does with Ja Rule, and really loved the video (and song) she did with LL Cool J. But this one, Hold You Down, with Fat Joe is tops on the list as well.

There’s something about Jen’s voice that is sweet and simple when paired with the toughness of a rapper. I love how she harmonizes with Fat Joe on this song. It makes the song happy and upbeat without being too sugary sweet.

Jen caught some flack from people about wearing fur in this video, but I think she looks great. Who else besides Jennifer Lopez could wear a baseball hat and a fur at the same and make it look stylish and hot?

Enjoy this music video:

Congratulations to Esperanza, who is the winner of the J-Lo CD contest! Esperanza said about Love Don’t Cost a Thing: “I like her cornrowed hair and the dance moves she does with her dancers on the beach. Go Jlo!”

We agree!

Here’s the video again for our viewing pleasure:

Thanks to all who entered! If you didn’t win, remember that we’ve got two other contests going on right now:
