Remember that infamous green dress?

How could we not, right?

A new exhibit with all the grammy fashion highlights is being celebrated in the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. The Grammy Museum will offically open tomorrow.

The picture above gives us a sneak peak of the one of the exhibits. It shows a “short pink dress worn by Beyonce (C), a high school band uniform worn by Kayne West (L) and a revealing green dress worn by Jennifer Lopez (R). ~Newscom.

I remember when each of these performers wore these outfits. Funny how certain fashion moments can do that. Out of all of these, however, I think the green dress is by far the most memorable! Don’t you?

Jennifer Lopez: That Green Dress!

Sean

Do you remember Jennifer Lopez and that fabulous green dress she wore to the 2000 grammy’s?

Of course you do! It was one of those rare moments in fashion history. Even Donatella Versace said it was “an unexpected success.” She recently compared that dress to the one Elizabeth Hurley wore with the safety pins along the side. (Which was also a Versace dress.) ~source

Jennifer wore that dress during a key time in her career. She was still starting out and wasn’t he mega-diva she is now. But it put her on the map. All eyes were on her. (And we haven’t stopped looking since. :)

Flashback Friday: Jennifer Lopez’s MTV Video Diary

July 18, 2008 by Cherie

I used to love a feature that MTV did, where they had an artist walk around with a camera and comment on an average week or month in their lives. In February of 2000 they had Jennifer Lopez do an MTV Video Diary.

This was a busy and very key time for her. She’d already had the success of Selena, and was still gaining fans in the music world. At the time of the first segment, we see Jen spending some time with Diddy and chatting with Lenny Kravitz. (As a side note, wouldn’t Lenny and Jen be a hot duo sometime?)

Jen also hums “Say My Name” to herself, which is interesting considering that not too long ago she did that awesome Pepsi commercial with Beyonce.

This is also the time period that Jen wore that ever-so-famous green Versace dress.

We get to see her get ready for Grammy night and then present on-stage with David Duchovny. She also making The Wedding Planner during this time. Very cool video, check it out:

In the second installment, we get to see Jen hanging out at home. She watches a video with a friend, and does some long-distance relationship maintenance with Diddy. She talks a bit about that infamous shooting, which is interesting given that she’ll now be asked to testify all these years later for the civil suit.

She also talks about how she has a problem being alone, which I think is very interesting given the choices she’s made in the love department.

In the third installment, we see a lot of scenes with Diddy. He surprises Jen with a visit, and they talk a bit about the last scene she needs to shoot for The Wedding Planner. Diddy actually gets upset when he knows she has a kissing scene! It’s very cute. We see more of the first house that she bought and is remodeling, how she feels about family, and what her future plans are for family and kids. (Very interesting now that she HAS that family with kids.)
