Flashback Friday: Clips From Gigli
Ben Affleck has been in the news a lot lately. He’s been chatting (whining) about his relationship with Jennifer Lopez and also talking about his new film, Gone, Baby, Gone.
So for this Friday Flashback I thought it might be fun to see clips from the movie that nearly ruined both Jen and Ben’s careers. Why the heck either of them agreed to do this part is beyond me. First of all, Ben plays a guy that gets a lesbian to fall in love with him, which he already played in the movie Chasing Amy. And really, how realistic is that plot line?
Still, when you see the love scene with Jennifer and Ben, you understand why they were a couple. They were really great together. Check out this clip:
Here’s J-Lo doing some stretching from Gigli, which Jen makes looks really great of course. But the dialog is ridiculous. Nowhere in real life can I imagine anyone actually saying these lines.
Whew… it’s a wonder either of those two have a career going today! Of course, Jennifer has branched out into perfume and clothing and music and maintained her superstar status. Hopefully Ben will find the same type of success with directing.
