Beyonce and JayZ Become a Power Music Couple Like J-Lo and Marc

Now that Beyonce’ and JayZ are supposedly married, they join an interesting mix of other “power music couples,” including Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.
I saw an interesting article about how power couples suffer from lack of sales after they get married. According to Billboard: “Lopez’s post-wedding 2005 album, “Rebirth,” has sold 731,000 copies, while a pair of 2007 albums, “Como Ama Una Mujer” and “Brave,” fell to 200,000 and 154,000, respectively.”
Jen and Marc both saw album sales slip after they married, as did Nas and Kelis. Faith Hill, on the other hand, saw her career get a boost from Tim McGraw (no doubt because she was an opening act and rode Tim’s coattails.)
Still, it seems interesting that something like getting married would impact record sales. However, if Beyonce’ and JayZ have proven anything, it’s that they prefer to separate their personal and professional lives. They haven’t even confirmed that they were dating, let alone married. Once a couple seems to talk about their relationship, the focus turns to the couple rather than the professional achievements. (Remember Bennifer?) My prediction is that this won’t have an impact on Beyonce’ or JayZ’s careers.

I am, too. I think the way they’ve handled everything is great. Who needs to talk about it? Although it makes it easier to write about, I respect them for not wanting to share their personal lives.
P.S. You’re welcome for the link! :)
