J-Lo’s Top Ten Videos

by User ImageCherie on April 3rd, 2008

Jennifer Lopez has made some very creative videos over the last few years. Here are the top ten (according to me, anyway). See if you agree:

10. All I Have (with LL Cool J)
How can you NOT luv a video with LL Cool J in it? He’s awesome in this and looks great. I also like the winter theme going on. Check out those high heeled boots! I don’t know how J-Lo can walk in those. The song is sad but also rhythmic enough to be catchy.

9. I’m Gonna Be Alright (with NAS)

I like the street life scenes and think J-Lo shows lots of sides to herself.

8. Ain’t It Funny (with Ja Rule)

I always like the songs she does with Ja Rule. I like the different looks on this one, too.

7. Get Right

This is a pretty unique video with all the looks and sides of J-Lo! I especially like the dorky girl who can’t keep a beat. (Jen’s polar opposite.)

6. Love Don’t Cost a Thing

The first appearance by Cris Judd. Of course Diddy’s influence is still strong here since she was still dating him. (I’d heard her admit in an interview that the corn rows were his idea.)

5. If You Had My Love

I heard J-Lo do an interview once where she said she had the most pressure in doing her first video, because it was ALWAYS going to be the first one. You know? Like, if you make a few after a while people don’t always remember, but they will recall the first time they saw you in a video.

Perhaps that’s why she incorporated so many things into this one. I love the remix part, love the take on the Internet (which was a newer thing back then) and like the different looks. I think it gave us all a preview of what we could expect from her going forward. (And she hasn’t let us down.)

4. Brave

Maybe it’s the poet in me, but I love a song that has perfect beat measures and rhyme. The message is a positive one, too.

3. I’m Glad

Recreating these scenes from Flashdance was not only an amazingly hard to do, but Jen managed to make it original. It reminds us that she started as a dancer, and shows how talented she is.

2. I’m Real (with Ja Rule)

No one can make a pink jumpsuit look better. Besides that, Jennifer and Ja Rule look like they’re having a great time.

1. Jenny from the Block

What other song can stick in your head like this one? I always like the songs that are autobiographical for Jen, and this one is the best by far. I love the take on “being watched constantly” and how she shouts “from the Bronx” at the very end.
