Jennifer Lopez and the Million Dollar Question
March 3, 2008 by Cherie
A lot has been made about just how much Jennifer Lopez has spent on the delivery of her twins. Was it a couple hundred grand? A million?
J-Lo is a diva, for sure, but I say if you got it why not spend it? Especially in the case of having babies. You want everything to be just right, you want privacy, the best care… shoot, if I had the money, I’d hire a private doctor and never have to hear the word “copay” or “insurance cost” again.
Well I don’t have the money, but J-Lo does. So when it came to having those twins, the babes she longed for lo’ these many years, she didn’t skimp.
I say: GOOD FOR HER.
Philly.com says she spent $1.4 million to “prepare to go into labor.” What exactly does that mean?
How about:
$700,000 for the hospital room. This figure comes from the $175,000 a week cost and the fact that she had “reserved” the suite for three weeks.
$300,000 for private nurses and doctors.
$300,000 on security
$100,000 for “personal assistants” (whatever that means.)
Think that’s too much? Maybe for us, but I keep looking at it from her perspective. If we had the power to “reserve” our room, and pay for doctors that were good and had a good bedside manner (as opposed to the klunkers we sometimes end up with), wouldn’t we? Especially when it came to delivery the babies that we’d wanted for many, many years?
Of course we would. Most of us can’t. But that doesn’t mean Jennifer Lopez shouldn’t.
